Personal

I have been married to Antonio Brown for almost 26 years and we have three wonderful children (Antonio Brown, Jr., 23; Brooke Brown, 19; and Cullen Brown, 10). I am very active in our local church and serve as our minister of music. Prior to joining the Mt. Zion Middle School family in 2014, I taught at Temple High School and Sharp Creek Elementary School. I was also a paralegal for over ten years at Smith Diment Conerly, LLP, a Program Assistant at the Georgia Department of Human Resources (Rehabilitation Division), and an Accounting Clerk at Southwire Co. in a former life.

Accomplishments

In 2013, I was awarded the GBEA Teacher of the Year Award at the GACTE Summer Leadership Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. I also led my department through Industry Certification and was the SACS chairperson for my school that year.  In 2014, I was selected to serve on Governor Deal’s Teacher Advisory Board. In 2016 and 2019, I was named Mt. Zion Middle School's Teacher of the Year. I was named the 2021 District Teacher of the Year for Carroll County Schools. Recently, I was humbled and honored to be a Top 10 Finalist for the 2022 Georgia Teacher of the Year!  I love teaching and hope that I spark a love for learning in my students!

I currently teach Business and Computer Science classes to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students, advise FBLA members, and handle yearbook production. I have also taught the following high school courses: Computer Applications I and II, Legal Environment of Business, Introduction to Business & Technology, Business Communication & Presentation, Business Essentials and Small Learning Community.
