announcements

  • If you happen to be sitting in class with Josh Rodgers or Laylee Montgomery...turn to them now and say Happy Birthday!!! Josh and Laylee, have a great day!

  • The MZMS yearbook team is calling all of our talented Eagles! They are planning to display the artwork of one lucky Eagle on the front of this year's yearbook! All you need to do is dream up a vision for one of these three themes:

    • We’re all in this together

    • Better Together

    • All or Nothing

Your drawing has to represent your interpretation of one of these themes and it can be drawn on whatever you choose, so long as it can be scanned by Mrs. Brown. If your artwork is chosen, it will be used as inspiration for 2020-2021 yearbook cover and you’ll get lunch compliments of Mrs. Brown, from the restaurant of your choice. Submit your drawings to Mrs. Brown no later than January 22nd which happens to be next week. Good luck!

  • 8th grade ads for the yearbook are also due on January 22nd.

  • If you want a yearbook, I suggest you purchase it now. Don’t be late and miss out on the memories. $40 is the cost or you can pay $45 and have your name put on the front. Forms are outside Mrs. Brown’s classroom or electronic copies can be found by scanning the QR code found in many of your classes.

  • Attention any students interested in participating in a spring sport (baseball, track, and soccer): Links to sign up are found in the following teachers Google classrooms: Coach Richardson, Coach Banister, Mrs. Teal, and Ms. Ezzell, I’m assuming on the stream. Be sure to explore the link. If you have questions, see Coach Banister.

  • I was reminded yesterday that I hadn’t ever rewarded the students who completed the November/December Reading Challenge! We celebrate these Eagles next Friday, January 22nd!

  • Yesterday was a good day to be an Eagle basketball player. Both teams brought home the “W.” Our girls won by a landslide, 47 - 19. Daelyn Woods led the scoring for our girls and Brea Cooley gets a shout out for her aggressive play! The boys won a nail-biter 45 to 43. Our Eagles are in action again tomorrow evening here at home. They will be hosting the Temple Tigers!

That’s it for today. Have a wonderful Wednesday and remember to check your school email daily!!!! Also, don't get caught looking down...LOOK UP!
