September 4, 2020

  • We don’t have any Eagle birthdays today, but….Mrs. Teal and Marley Cook will be celebrating tomorrow the 5th, Brody Stewart has a birthday Sunday the 6th, and Raylee Davis turns a year older Monday the 7th. So let MZMS be the first to wish you guys a happy birthday! Eat some cake!

  • Menus for Tuesday, 9/8/20:

    • Breakfast: pancake on a stick with banana and juice

    • Lunch: Hotdog, cole slaw, deli roasters (which I believe are potatoes), blueberries with whipped topping, and peach slices

And just letting you know that until further notice, Carroll County Schools will be offering free breakfast and lunch.

  • Our lady Eagles didn’t bring home the win against the “university of Heard County,” as Coach Campbell affectionately called them. In spite of that, Addison Corn pitched a good game, Daelyn Woods stroked out two hits, and both Addison Warner and Abby Cook played good defensively. The Lady Eagles will be playing in their annual Breast Cancer Awareness game next Wednesday, September 9th. Let’s be sure to go out and support our girls as they take on the Bay Springs Bobcats.

  • Library books are trickling in, but I’ve still got  many out. Please bring them back Eagles...I don’t have the money in my budget to replace all of the great books that are currently missing!

  • Unfortunately, our boys came up short in the game yesterday against Central, but let me tell you I got some good shots of them on the field and I heard good things when I was standing on the sidelines. Walter Myers had at least 2 sacks and came off the field stoked, Damien Sanders and the whole team used brute force to get him across the goal line, and coaches took kids aside when opportunities arose to teach. But what I saw the most was player respect. Coaches you’re doing a great job “coaching” our boys and your coaching is going much deeper than football. Our Eagles are in action at home once again next week against Bowdon!

Friday has arrived and don’t forget that Monday is Labor Day, so no school! Enjoy your long weekend: rest, recharge, and come back on Tuesday rejuvenated and ready to take on the week. And remember that “happiness is not having to set the alarm for the next day, or the next day, or the next day!”

Planning for success
