I am proud to say this is my second year
as principal of Mt. Zion Middle School. Although, I have been working
and living with educators throughout my life. Both of my parents were
educators and I had several aunts and uncles who were teachers and
administrators.
I knew I was going to follow the family
tradition when I graduated from Ranburne High School and headed to
Southern Union State Jr. College. After receiving my Associate's
Degree, I continued my education at Jacksonville State University. I
received my Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and Master’s
Degrees in Physical Education and Counseling and Guidance. Later, I
added my Master’s Degree in Administration and Educational Specialist
Degree from the University of West Georgia.
Now, I have
twenty-three years experience as an educator. I spent nine years
teaching science, health and physical education and fourteen years in
administration. I started my career in the Carroll County Schools.
However, when I became an administrator I was principal of Rock Mills
Junior High School in Randolph County Alabama. I served as Personnel
Director of Randolph County Schools before returning to Carroll County
as assistant principal at Temple High School. I am pleased to be at Mt.
Zion Middle School and look forward to watching our school grow.
